Generation 2

In 2004 to help promote the live action Sailor Moon television series, the original Sailor Moon manga was re-released in Japan in an updated format referred to as the "Shinsobon" version in Japanese. The artwork was touched up by Naoko Takeuchi with several pages being almost completely redrawn. Chapters were reorganised, reducing the overall number of volumes for the main story arc and putting the side stories into two separate "Short Stories" volumes. Codename Sailor V had it's three volumes combined into two.

English release: The English release of the second generation Sailor Moon manga was produced by Kodansha USA. Unlike the first generation English Sailor Moon manga release, this version uses the original Japanese names, is un-mirrored, and makes no story changes. Codename Sailor V was included in this release.
